Abstract Acrylics

My abstract art differs generally in many ways from my more tranquil collages and they are also, in many cases, quite distinct from each other. I like to think they are alive with energy; indeed, some of the colors, particularly complementary colors when juxtaposed together, literally dance before my eyes. Most of the paintings have layer upon layer of colors incorporated in them and textures that can be appreciated even more so up close. Sometimes my art is initially based on an image or idea of a natural landscape or on a theme such as music and takes shape from there. One color laid down often influences what color, element or shape follows. The process can be quite intuitive, spontaneous and joyous. My mood, music or life’s experiences can also inspire what comes next. As most of us know, art can be influenced by a myriad of factors as dynamic as those that shape life itself. It is my hope that you will enjoy the colors and elements in the paintings and perceive your own meaning in them.
